After years of songwriting and performing,

About "Live Oak Growing"

Chad finally began professionally recording his work with Joe Rogers at Silence Breaks Studios in October of 2008.  Though all of the recordings were complete before Thanksgiving, Chad and Joe knew they had many months of editing ahead of them.  They mixed and recalibrated each track throughout the winter and spring, tweaking each to the best possible sound without over-processing.  Finally, on June 1, 2009, Chad received the hard copy of all 5 tracks from Joe.  By the end of the month, Chad had already found Tim Sturges to handle the mastering of the tracks.  By that time, he had already decided to name the 5 song EP "Live Oak Growing," after his favorite Whittman poem.

Though he cherished the words of Whittman, Chad always saw himself more as the Live Oak Growing than the poet giving the description - hence the original cover art. Chad took much of July and August to complete the cover on his own time.  Having taken only one art class in college, he was determined to find a way to express the soft pastel image in his mind on the paper.

By the time Chad and graphic designer, Sandra Velasquez finished pulling the drawing into cover format, adding head shots and arranging the pages, it was already September.  The album was ready to duplicate and the cover art ready to print.

In October, armed with hundreds of copies of the album, Chad set out to put a band together for his album release.  He didn't have to look very far when he contacted Christian Linsey, the drummer on his album.  The two settled on the date of December 5, 2009 to relese "Live Oak Growing" on iTunes, Amazaon, Lala and numerous other digital music vendors.  By December 5, Chad and Christian had added guitarist Alberto Duhau and Bassist Pat Malone for the performance.

The performance and release party were a big hit and Chad's work has been on the move ever since.
